[[They->I, Dragonfly]] hum through the air, landing from plant to plant, [[skipping->Skip, Skip, Hum.]] across the [[water's surface.->Surface Three]] Their iridescent exoskeleton reflecting the sun in small beams, casted onto the blue and brown. [[She->I, Waterlily]] sits on the [[surface,->Surface Two]] every [[ripple->Ripple Two]] lifting her [[up and down.->Like A Breath]] Her stem is submerged in the cold pool. It changes direction, it's [[trajectory->Trajectory]] altered by your fingers in the water. [[Does it remember the ripple?->Undisturbed One]] Does it remember what it changed? Her lilypad and petals bob up and down, the wind rustling the soft whites and pinks. She will [[remain->Undisturbed Two]] in these waters until she is plucked or dead. One guaranteeing the other. She was born [[here,->Pond]] and she will return [[here.->Pond]] [[<img src="https://collybirde.neocities.org/Untitled%20design%20(2).png" alt="waterlilly" style="width:151px;height:100px;">->Waterlily]]

They leap from the lilypad, their circular amalgamation of eyes watching the fingers that broke the water's tension. They continue to hunt, giving a wider birth. Tracing the edge of it's [[territory.->Pond]] [[<img src="https://collybirde.neocities.org/Untitled%20design%20(3).png" alt="dragonfly" style="width:151px;height:100px;">->Dragonfly]]

He raises his head, a sudden motion. He turns slowly to glare, dark beady eyes accusatory. Fish have swam away. Crawled and ran. No matter, they will meet the same [[end->Pond]] in his stomach. The tadpole darts from place to place, a small spot of black in the blue and brown. It is jilted by any sudden movements; the [[crane->Crane]] hunting for food, the [[dragonfly->Dragonfly]] landing, the sway of the [[waterlily->Waterlily]]. Which is predator and which are not? What is friend and what is foe? It only knows its [[mother.->Pond]] [[<img src="https://collybirde.neocities.org/Untitled%20design%20(1).png" alt="tadpole" style="width:151px;height:100px;">->Tadpole]]

Nothing changes except the seasons. Things are born and things die. That's what makes it [[whole.->Pond]] [[<img src="https://collybirde.neocities.org/Untitled%20design%20(2).png" alt="waterlilly" style="width:151px;height:100px;">->Waterlily]]

They take their moment, standing nearly still. Soon it's over, and they take flight once more. The hummingbird of insects, they pause in the air. He is earily still, staring into the depths. Almost as though he could stay that way [[forever.->Pond]] [[<img src="https://collybirde.neocities.org/Untitled%20design%20(5).png" alt="pond" style="width:200px;height:125px;">->Crane]]

It stays in the waters depths, avoiding predators. The depths are cool and welcoming, sparsed with rays of sun. It darts out, braving a stretch of water that skirts the shore. She is rooted. Swayed but unmoved. Altered but anchored. [[You->Pond]] watch her drift in place. They settle on a circle of green that floats on the water. As though taking a rest, a break from a ceaseless hunt. Their wings slow, only moving with the occasional twitch. He whoops and hollers, ruffling his feathers. Calling to his friends or relatives, chasing away any threats. He walks through the waters, slowly pushing through the [[waterlillies.->Waterlily]] He searches through filth and mud, dipping his beak deep below the surface. [[You->Pond]] watch him snap his bill at inperceptable meals. Like a breath with imaginary lungs. The water rises and falls with every moment from every creature. The [[cranes->Crane]] thin legs stir the water, and makes her sway. Landing on the petals of [[waterlillies->Waterlily]], looking for bugs hiding on leaves and flowers. The buzzing sounds of dragonflies and bees. The chirping of birds and croaking of frogs. I, Dragonfly. The beauty of afar. Plentitude of shining colors. The closer you look, The more you gaze, The furthur nature reveals the truth of my nature. Unnappealing to most. Keep afar. I, Crane. Through the water, I see the magnitude of life. The pond is the world.
